Acceptable use policy

The rules for using Shiklo Tools and Shiklo Programming: what you may do, what is not allowed, and how to report misuse.

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using Shiklo. It forms part of our Terms and conditions. Our tools are free for everyone, and these rules help keep them that way.

You may

  • Use any tool for personal, educational or commercial work.
  • Link to Shiklo or to individual tools from your website, blog or social media.
  • Use the results the tools produce from your own content however you wish.

You must not

  • Use the Website for any unlawful purpose, or to process content you have no right to use (for example to infringe copyright, or to remove protection from documents you are not authorised to unlock).
  • Use the tools to create, prepare or distribute illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing or abusive content, malware, or forged documents.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload or damage the Website, its servers or networks, including denial-of-service attacks.
  • Use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Website at a rate beyond what a person using a normal browser could produce.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website, its hosting or storage, or bypass its security measures.
  • Copy, mirror, resell or republish the Website or its tools as your own service.
  • Tamper with or hide the Website's advertising, or generate artificial ad impressions or clicks — including clicking ads just to “support” the site, which our advertising partners do not allow.
  • Impersonate Shiklo or suggest an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the content you use with our tools and for complying with all laws that apply to you. Because your files are processed only on your own device, we cannot see or check them.

Enforcement

If we believe this policy has been broken, we may block or limit access to the Website without notice, and may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
